This week's Product Focus is AlphaZelle Pure Home Ultra-concentrated Laundry Soap. Like many of you, I have pets and like most pets, they occasionally have accidents. A few months ago I decided it was time to steam clean the carpets, so I borrowed my sister's carpet steamer. She also gave me a "pet formula" to use in the carpet cleaner. So I followed the directions and added the recommended amount to the hot water. I proceeded to clean every carpet in my house. When I was done, I went outside for some reason and came back in a few minutes later. When I walk back through the door, I was smacked in the face with a strong flowery chemical scent and my heart sank. My first thought was "what the heck did I just do to my poor dog?!?!?". You see, my dog, Brody, has allergies and is pretty much sensitive to the whole world. Within an hour, welts appeared on his body from head to toe. It never dawned on me until It was too late that the "pet formula" would cause a reaction.
I immediately opened up all the windows and doors to air out the house. Then I went back over all of my carpets with just water, twice. I thought it would help to pull out the chemicals and ultimately help Brody. I ended up buying my own carpet steamer so I could be sure there were no more chemicals going into the carpets. I filled up the tank with water and used 8 pumps of AlphaZelle Pure Home Ultra-concentrated Laundry Soap. Knowing that it is naturally anti-fungal, anti-bacterial and anti-microbial, I knew it would be a perfect replacement for the carpet cleaning solutions that are full of harmful chemicals. It worked great! No more stinky pet smell, no more urine and no more chemical smell! Once the checmical smell was gone, it took about a week for the welts on Brody’s body to go away. This experience taught me that I need to be aware of what products I use around my home. My 2 dogs are family to me and I love my family! I only want the best for them and that includes knowing that we live in a healthy chemical free environment.
